Our Richard in General

How on earth can one pick out any particular piece of Artistry that Richard Chamberlain has done through the year. In all honesty we all have favourites - yes of course, but looking on what he has done we can only say "brilliant"

He is truly a fine Actor - from the grim type scary - frightening person he can portray in "The Hunter", and "Pavillion" - the tongue in cheek "King Solomon's Mines" and "Lost City of Gold". The rotten rat we loved to hate in "Towering Inferno"

- then of course the so Romantic Father Ralph in the ever loved "The Thorn Birds"

Give Richard a script and he can play anything. That voice of his we know the moment he opens his mouth.

RC the "Singer" as we say If Only he would put those songs onto a CD so we could all enjoy them again.

Picking between "Shogun" also a favourite, and "Thorn Birds" I somehow think the beloved "Thorn Birds" always ends up first - How we loved to watch that mini-series and of course still do - All waiting for the DVD to come out. How we change the story around ourselves - in our minds changing the story over and over again!!! Wishing that our Father Ralph would give up the church for his Megan - that they had married and lived Happily ever after - Great fun reading in Fanfic what others think!!

For myself I grew up with Richard in "Dr. Kildare", he was my hero (and still is), now my little Granddaughter loves to watch "The Slipper and the Rose" - Again how on earth can we choose anything in particular - because everything is good.

We even laugh at the dreadful "Swarm" the idea of RC with all those bees around him LOL he even admits that he did it for the money - so at least he's honest - who can blame him?

Richard you truly are loved by so many Fans.
In honour of you we are going to try and get a Rose named after you - The Richard Chamberlain Rose -

Seeing as Megan got her finger pricked on "The Rose" there is even a thornless rose - there again, if she hadn't pricked her finger - there wouldn't have been Father Ralph tending to her and we would never have heard that Famous line - Roses have nasty thorns!!!!
