This is a wonderful video about Greed and Wildlife Poaching in America, and what has been done by conservationists to protect endangered species. This effort was undertaken in the late 1980's, but its principles are applicable to the present day:
- Poaching for profit threatens all wildlife,
even when done for sport.
- For every animal killed legally - one is killed
illegally.
- Greedy people take advantage of the environment
and pose a great threat to wildlife.
- Deterrents such as undercover operations, fines,
and prison sentencing must be implemented to
protect wildlife.
- Poachers do not care about the survival of the
species.
This video unfolds a moving story of the American Black Bear, Alligator, Cougar, Bald Eagle, Salmon, Deer, Elk, Coyote, and Fowl of all types, illegally hunted and killed each day, much of which takes place in our National State Parks, right under the noses of Federal Wildlife Officials. Elaborate sting operations were initiated to clean up poaching in and around our National Parks, using hidden cameras, under cover agents, raids, and stricter enforcement of rules and regulations.
Since wildlife cannot speak, who will speak for them? Richard Chamberlain, a great conservationist, and caretaker of our natural resources, has magnificently, and effectively provided his influence and voice to speak for those who cannot.
