CHRISTMAS IN THE HOLYLAND, a rare and difficult to find performance, seemed more of a documentary than
Christmas Special. You will enjoy the most interesting and beautiful scenery in The Garden of Gethsemene, Tiberius, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. I have visited the Holyland, and it was wonderfully nostalgic to revisit some of these favorite,
historically significant places once again. Perry treats his guests to a lovely repertoire of Christmas hymns and traditional Hebrew songs and dances. The costumes were breathtaking, and Perry's warm casual presence brings happiness to all, in this beautifully choreographed presentation.

I bought this video, because Richard Chamberlain, my favorite actor, was a guest on this Christmas show. Richard was handsome, charming, and wonderful as always, sharing historical data, and reading scripture. His rich mellifluous voice instantly mesmerized the viewing audience, as well as the throngs of children who gathered to listen.

This was a lovely and joyous Christmas presentation, in the Holyland, but it was greatly disappointing, to not hear one song from the lips of Richard Chamberlain. This man has made two glorious and best selling albums, along with countless singles in his early career, and has thrilled audiences with his singing in several sell-out musicals. I will never understand why Perry did not assign to the handsome actor with the sweet baritone voice...at least one Christmas song. Once I got over that disappointment, I could reluctantly, if not resentfully, relax and enjoy the warmth and joy of Christmas In The Holyland.
